View itinerary

At the tip of the Côte de Jade, you’ll come across two neighbouring towns teeming with remarkable charm and offering a complete change of scenery: Les Moutiers-en-Retz and La Bernerie-en-Retz. Take the time to visit them both during your stay at our Le Ranch campsite!

La Bernerie-en-Retz

This vibrant, family-friendly town offers an array of sporting and cultural activities all year round, much to the delight of children and their parents.

First, La Bernerie boasts a large saltwater lake stretching some 2.5 hectares, offering a unique setting for water-based leisure activities. The lake is like a giant swimming pool and is ideal for splashing and swimming in very safe, peaceful conditions. Enthusiasts can also enjoy windsurfing here, along with a range of other popular watersports (kayaking, dinghy sailing, catamaran sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, sand yachting, etc.). You can also try your hand at Boules Berneriennes, a variant of the Nantaise bowls game.

Les Moutiers-en-Retz

Les Moutiers doesn’t have a saltwater lake like La Bernerie, but it still has plenty to offer. With its 6 km of natural beach, there is all the space you need to sunbathe, swim and enjoy watersports.

To the south of the town, you can explore the Lyarne Marsh and its mosaic of canals and old salt fields. A beautiful walk awaits you there, surrounded by stunning biodiversity including waders, swans, Highland cows, saltwater reedbeds and more.

Prigny chapel and the church of Saint Pierre are also worth a visit when in Les Moutiers!
